Katsina State Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, has announced the adoption of two new leadership books authored by Dr. Dakuku Peterside—Leading in a Storm and Beneath the Surface—as part of the state’s ongoing public service transformation drive.

Speaking at the Abuja presentation on behalf of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, Jobe said the initiative aligns with the administration’s reforms aimed at professionalising governance, strengthening service delivery, and fostering a performance-driven culture across ministries and agencies.

He described the books as “practical guides that mirror Katsina’s development philosophy,” noting that their principles resonate with the state’s strides in security management, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and climate-smart agriculture.

To integrate the lessons into public administration, Jobe announced that the government will procure 500 copies of Leading in a Storm for distribution to Executive Council members, Permanent Secretaries, Local Government Chairmen, and heads of MDAs. The materials will be used in leadership training sessions, reading circles, and review workshops linked to government priorities.

The Deputy Governor also highlighted the state’s crisis-management strategies, including scenario planning, early-warning systems, and community partnerships that have bolstered security and service delivery.

“At the heart of our reforms is a simple ethic—turning small, disciplined actions into measurable improvements in people’s lives,” Jobe stated.

He called on development partners and the private sector to support Katsina’s capacity-building efforts through mentorship and practical collaboration, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to accountable and resilient governance.
